Any iPhone or iPad running iOS 17 or later. Supporting three-year-old system versions is deliberate — the whole point of Digiframe is giving an older iPad a job, and requiring the newest iOS would exclude exactly the devices it is meant for.

Yes. While a slideshow or a Standby screen is showing, Digiframe keeps the screen awake on its own, so you do not need to change your device’s Auto-Lock setting. Leave the mode and the device locks on its normal schedule again.

A screen that stays lit all day draws power continuously, so keep the device on a charger. It is also worth setting the brightness where you want it before you start.

Photos you add are copied into Digiframe’s own storage on your device. They are never sent to us — we run no server and have no way to see them.

If you use cloud albums, they sync through your own iCloud account so the same album appears on your other devices. That is your private iCloud storage; we cannot read it either. The privacy policy covers this in detail.

Open the album and set Photo Order. There are three choices: Manual, where you drag photos into the arrangement you want; Oldest First; and Newest First. The two date options read the capture date stored inside each photo.

That is separate from Playback, which decides whether the slideshow walks the album in order or shuffles it. If you want photos in a specific sequence, set Photo Order and set Playback to Sequential.

If you used Digiframe 1.0, albums created back then had no stored order at all, which is why they could shuffle themselves between launches. Version 2.0 fixes that. Choosing Oldest First on an older album is the quickest way to get a sensible order back.

Yes. In the album’s settings, set Fit to Whole Photo. The picture will be shown complete, letterboxed against the background, instead of being cropped to fill the screen.

If you prefer the fuller, edge-to-edge look, leave it on Fill Screen. Digiframe positions that crop around the subject — it looks for faces first — so a group photo keeps its faces rather than losing them to the top edge.

Both are per-album settings. Zoom can be Off, Subtle, or Standard, and Transition can be None, Crossfade, or Slide.

Zoom Off with Transition None gives a completely still frame that only ever changes picture, which is what a lot of people want from a display they sit next to all day.

Free covers photo slideshows with every playback setting, subject-aware cropping, the minimal clock, the date and greeting widgets, all three screen layouts, iCloud albums, and all 12 languages.

Pro adds the digital, analog, and flip clocks, the weather and calendar widgets, photo overlays, and grid layout. It is an auto-renewing subscription available monthly or annually; the price is shown in your own currency in the app before you buy anything.

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us, so cancelling happens in your Apple Account: apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions, or in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Digiframe’s own Settings screen has a shortcut to the same place.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next renewal. You keep Pro until the period you have already paid for runs out.

Open Settings inside Digiframe and tap Restore Purchases, making sure the device is signed in to the same Apple Account that bought the subscription. That is nearly always all it takes.

If it still does not appear, write to us with the Apple Account email used for the purchase and we will look into it.

Only to show local weather. Your location is used to ask Apple Weather for the conditions where you are, and for nothing else — it is not stored, logged, or used to build a history.

If you never add a weather widget or overlay, Digiframe never asks. You can revoke the permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.

Only so the calendar widget can show your upcoming events on screen. Access is read-only: Digiframe never creates, edits, or deletes anything in your calendar, and event details are not stored or sent anywhere. You choose which calendars are included.

It became the whole app. In 1.0, the Dashboard was one mode among several, and Clock, Weather, and Calendar were separate screens you switched between. Version 2.0 replaced all four with a single display system: you pick a layout, then put whichever widgets you want into it — clock, weather, calendar, photos, date, greeting — on the same screen.

Your existing dashboards were carried over automatically into the new system, so what you had set up should still be there, just editable in more ways than before. Your albums and photos are untouched.
