Privacy Policy

Who we are

Digiframe is an iPhone and iPad app published by Digimarktech LLC. It turns a device you already own into a photo frame, clock, weather display, and calendar board. This policy explains what the app does with information on your device, and what little of it ever leaves.

We do not operate a Digiframe server, a Digiframe account system, or a Digiframe database of users. There is nowhere for us to store your information even if we wanted to.

Your photos

When you add photos to an album, iOS shows you the standard system photo picker. Digiframe receives only the images you select — it does not get access to the rest of your photo library, and it does not browse, index, or scan your library.

The images you pick are copied into Digiframe’s own private storage area on your device, along with a thumbnail. They stay there until you delete the photo, the album, or the app.

Photos in local albums never leave your device. They are not uploaded, backed up to us, analysed remotely, or transmitted anywhere. We operate no photo storage of any kind.

Digiframe reads the capture date recorded inside a photo file (its EXIF data) so that “Oldest First” and “Newest First” album sorting work. That reading happens on your device, and the date is used only to order the album.

iCloud albums

Digiframe offers cloud albums so the same album can appear on more than one of your devices. These are stored in your own iCloud account, in a private CloudKit container (iCloud.com.digimarktech.DigiframeApp) that belongs to you.

This means:

• The data is held by Apple under your Apple Account, and is covered by Apple’s iCloud terms and privacy policy.
• It is a private database. We have no access to it, no credentials for it, and no ability to read, copy, or recover its contents.
• It syncs only between devices signed in to your own Apple Account.
• Turning iCloud off, or signing out, simply stops the syncing. Local albums are unaffected.

If you would rather nothing left the device at all, use local albums, which never touch iCloud.

On-device photo analysis

When a photo is cropped to fill the screen, Digiframe tries to keep the subject in frame rather than blindly cropping to the geometric centre. To do that it uses Apple’s Vision framework to look for faces, and failing that, for the visually prominent region of the image.

Three things are worth being precise about here:

• This is face detection — finding that a face is present, and where — not face recognition. Digiframe does not identify anyone, does not build face templates or faceprints, and cannot tell one person from another.
• It runs entirely on your device. No image or image data is sent anywhere for analysis.
• The only thing kept is a rectangle: coordinates describing where in the picture to centre the crop. No biometric data is stored.

Because none of this leaves the device or identifies anyone, iOS does not require a permission prompt for it, and none is shown.

Location and weather

If you use a weather widget or a weather overlay, Digiframe asks for your location while you are using the app. iOS will prompt you, and you can decline or revoke it at any time in Settings.

Your location is used for exactly one purpose: to ask Apple’s WeatherKit service for the conditions and forecast where you are. Weather data comes from Apple Weather.

We do not store your location, log it, build a location history, or use it for anything other than that request. If you never use a weather feature, Digiframe never asks for your location.

Calendar

The calendar widget asks for permission to read your calendars so it can show your upcoming events on the display. You choose which calendars are included.

Access is read-only. Digiframe does not create, edit, or delete events. Event details are read to draw them on screen and are not copied into Digiframe’s own storage, not sent to us, and not sent to anyone else. Declining the permission simply means the calendar widget has nothing to show.

Subscriptions and purchases

Digiframe Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store.

Apple processes the payment. We never see, receive, or handle your card details, billing address, or Apple Account credentials.

To know whether your subscription is active — including on a second device, or after you reinstall — the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription management service. RevenueCat receives an app-generated anonymous identifier and your App Store purchase receipt, and returns whether Pro is unlocked. It does not receive your name, email address, photos, location, or calendar. RevenueCat is the only third-party software component in the app.

Analytics and tracking

Digiframe contains no analytics, advertising, attribution, or tracking software. There is no Google Analytics, no Facebook SDK, no crash-reporting service, no advertising identifier, and no user profiling.

We do not track you across apps or websites, and Digiframe does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission because there is nothing to ask about. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not receive behavioural data about how individuals use the app.

This website

This site is a handful of static pages hosted on Netlify. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics, embeds no third-party scripts, fonts, or trackers, and asks you for nothing. There is no contact form — the support page gives you an email address instead.

As with any web host, Netlify processes standard server request information (such as IP address and browser user agent) in order to serve the page and protect the service. That is handled under Netlify’s privacy policy. We do not add to it, and we do not receive per-visitor reports.

Children

Digiframe is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages, but it is not directed at children and it is not designed to collect information from anyone. There are no accounts, no profiles, no messaging, no social features, and no user-generated content shared with anyone else. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, because we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export the personal information a company holds about you, or to object to its processing — for example under the GDPR in Europe and the UK, or the CCPA/CPRA in California.

We want to be straightforward rather than write around this: we do not hold personal information about you. There is no account, no profile, and no server-side record tied to you. So there is generally nothing for us to look up, export, correct, or delete on request — the data lives on your device and in your own iCloud account, both of which are already under your control.

We do not sell or share personal information, so there is no opt-out to exercise. If you have a request or want to confirm any of this, write to us and we will answer.

Your practical controls are:

• Photos — you choose what is added, and can delete photos or whole albums in the app at any time.
• Location — grant or revoke in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Digiframe.
• Calendar — grant or revoke in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.
• iCloud syncing — use local albums, or sign out of iCloud, to keep everything on the device.
• Subscription — manage or cancel in your Apple subscription settings.

Deleting your data

Deleting the Digiframe app removes its local storage, which includes every photo you added to a local album and all of your settings.

Cloud albums live in your iCloud account, so deleting the app does not by itself remove them — that is what lets them come back when you reinstall. To remove them, delete the cloud albums inside the app first, or remove Digiframe’s data from iCloud in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud.

Because we hold nothing, there is no separate account-deletion request to make of us.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s behaviour changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. Material changes will also be described in the app’s release notes on the App Store. This page is the current version at all times; it is worth re-reading after a major update.
